Not-So-Super Markets
If you grew up in just about any other country in the world, your idea of a supermarket will most definitely contrast with North Korean citizens’. The country boasts of a good economy and that all the famine/hunger of decades ago has stopped. Well, with the country more guarded now, no one knows how true this is. But this generous tourist gave us a sneak peek, thankfully. The economy is not as blooming as the North Korean government will have you believe, and this photo tells the story. The supermarket here is barely staying open with empty stalls and practically nothing left to sell, except a few groceries scattered all over the place.
