Even though Chris Kyle (lead role) was praised for his successes as the best U.S sniper during his time in the military, it ultimately affects his relationship with his family. American Sniper still holds the record for being the highest-grossing war film of all time since its world premiere in 2014 and wide release in January 2015.
Aside from its Box office success, this movie also received recognition from the Academy award, eventually winning the Best Sound Editing award in the 87th edition. American sniper grosses $547.4 million in box office against a budget of $59 million.
