As a teen idol, he was signed to Chancellor Records. Several performances for American Bandstand during its three-season run in the 1950s sent him straight into national stardom. Fabian was able to place 11 of his tunes on the Billboard Hot 100 for a decade, demonstrating that he had developed a large following at such a young age. After this season, Fabian chose to cancel his contract when he turned 18 to concentrate on acting.
Following the transition into acting, some of the movies he worked on include are Hound-Dog Man, Five Weeks in a Balloon, and North to Alaska. Although he’s no longer active in the entertainment industry, his enthusiasm for singing and performing does not appear to have faded in the least. In Missouri, he continues to make cameo appearances in musical revues among fellow 1950s teen stars.
