The rope used on this swing in the scene of Pride and Prejudice was made of synthetic fibers, specifically nylon. However, in the era of the movie\’s setting, this material wasn\’t available. Ropes in the 19th century were made of natural fibers like cotton and other ropey plants like Sisal.
Anyway, we can sweep this under the carpet for the safety of darling Kiera Knightley who played Lizzie.
