Terciopelo Viper
Often called fer-de-lance, this snake likes to live near human habitation, yet it has a defensive temperament. This is why many snake bites in Southern Mexico and America are attributed to this vit viper. Unlike the Malayan snake, they don’t have flashy colors that make them stand out, but they still have a feature that makes them stand out – a broad flat-shaped head. Of course, Terciopelo Viper is not pretty, but its plenty of scales helps it to prevent water loss, especially in dry regions. As regards this, it enjoys moist environments and would be hardly found on high grounds. It is also fast-moving and quick to react, and the large size of its head gives its body a better push to take higher bites that can be above the knee. Such bites had better be treated. Otherwise, it can cause Gangrene which often leads to amputation, and this is just one of the many effects of this viper’s bite.
