She, however, decided to shake it off and approached them regardless with a charming smile, greetings, and a warm reception. Hailey probably thought this was good enough to kick off the disgust on their face, but they haven’t even reciprocated any of this. Now they held up their nose and squeezed their face as if they could perceive the strangest smell they ever met.
What’s the joke
Hailey could tell she wasn’t going to make any progress, so she wished them a good time and stepped back. However, as she moved away, she tried to trace their gaze, and she realized it was another customer they were seriously staring at, and now they’ve burst into a round of laughter. Hailey wasn’t excited about this. The customer they were laughing at was regular and friendly, and she wished they would stop.
Since Hailey was on the table close to them, she could make out the words in their conversation, and she was very unhappy about it since they were merely judging someone they didn’t even know. They called on Hailey, and she assumed it was to take their order, but on the contrary, they called her to ask what she thought of the customer.
