The hall went silent. Was she going to say yes? Theirs was an unlikely relationship and everyone except Rob knew it. He wanted to build a life with her and didn’t care about how they looked to people. He was in for the long haul. He wanted her to know just how much he loved her and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. He got his grandma’s diamond ring polished and looked his best.
