A poor family
Anna was born into a poor family in a city where the quality of life depended heavily on one’s financial situation. With her parents being poor, even before she was born, the addition to the family did not help the situation and had even more negative consequences besides the lack of money. Anna’s birth seemed to change the dynamics of the once so loving relationship between the couple.
While Anna’s father, John, seemed to want to give his daughter the best possible life by working his ass and spending all her free time with her, Anna’s mother, Dorothy, seemed to take a different approach to her. This went on for a few years. John hated his wife’s behavior, but felt helpless. He loved her very much and did not want to lose her. He hoped it was just a temporary thing and that it would pass. But it would soon become apparent that this was not the case.
