Soldier returns home and finds his wife lied

Chris Daugherty, a US Navy sailor, was scheduled to depart in January. It wouldn’t be his first trip to another country. It wouldn’t be the first time he’d be apart from his family for an extended length of time. Daugherty knew he’ll be at sea for five months.

However, shortly after setting sail, the Navy man would learn that his deployment would be longer than he had anticipated, but that wasn’t the only surprise in store for him. Chris had no idea at the moment, but he’d be in for the shock of his life when he returned home.

Life as a military spouse isn’t always simple, and respected as it seems. Chris Daugherty and his wife, Natasha, were no strangers to the costs of living that way. It can be soul-crushing to be separated from your loved ones for long periods.

The young Temecula, California couple had three young children, and deployment time made things even more difficult. When Petty Officer Chris Daugherty’s entire family came to the port to see him depart on the USS Vinson, there were laughs among the tears. They had no idea that by the time Christ returned home, everything would have changed.
